  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil, add 1 finely chopped onion, saute until translucent.
  2. When onion turns translucent add 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, saute for 1 minute.
  3. Add 3/4 tsp ginger, saute for few seconds.
  4. Now add 1 tsp turmeric, 2 tsp each of cumin, red chilli, coriander & 1 tbsp garam masala powders, saute.
  5. Add 3 cups pre-soaked & boiled chickpeas, 2 cups diced tomatoes, mix well.
  6. Add 1 tsp salt, cover & cook on low heat for 15 mins, stirring once or twice in between.
  7. Add 400 ml coconut milk, simmer for 5 mins.
  8. Take 1 tsp cornflour, add 2 tbsp water, mix into a smooth slurry.
  9. Add the ready slurry into the chickpea masala, mix & simmer for 5 mins.
  10. Turn off the heat sprinkle 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander, serve hot.
