This fruit cocktail trifle is quick and easy to prepare and you don't have to be a master chef to know how. Sponge cake is spread with fruit jelly, surrounded in fruit gelatin, allowed to set, then topped with pudding I posted the trifle photo here so you will notice that I added a layer of strawberries. I did not add the I used raspberry instead of strawberry jam and jello. Make sure you don't use cool whip vs.

  1. Prepare jelly according to the package instructions and leave in the fridge to set a bit but not firmly.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare a glass bowl. Cut the Swiss roll into thin slices and arrange them very tightly at the bottom of the bowl, cover half the bowl.
  3. Pour over the vanilla custard to cover the Swiss roll, set aside in the refrigerator.
  4. Whip the cream until stiff peaks and fold in the jelly, drained fruit cocktail and mix well. Pour the jelly mixture on top of the custard/Swiss Roll, smooth out with a spoon. Refrigerate until it's set.
  5. To decorate, place a thick layer of whipped cream and some fruit of your choice.

Layers of pear, peach and pineapple in a raspberry flavoured jelly, sponge, custard and stabilised cream. Don't expect there to be the quantity of fruit in this product by looking at the label!
