  2. Cut the yam to pieces.. Cut the plantain into two or three pieces but not peeling off the skin.
  3. Wash and put them in the boiling water, add salt and allow to cook
  4. Wash the mortar and pestle. Dry with a clean napkin. Add the grinded crayfish and salt inside the mortar.
  5. Remove, peel the cooked plantain and pound in the mortar
  6. Pound the plantain till smooth.
  7. Add the cooked yam and pound together.
  8. Pound and mix together
  9. Add the red oil and mix properly with the pestle.
  10. Serve the sweet (onunu) pounded yam with the turkey pepper soup

Yam, Ripe Plantain, Red Oil, Crayfish, Salt, Fresh fish, Fresh pepper and Tomatoes, Tomatoes. Onunu is a traditional delicacy from the Ijaw and Kalabari people of Rivers state usually served with a sauce. When both yams and plantains had boiled till soft, drain.
